About Us
How NeoPOS began
NeoPOS is an Australian family business, based in Melbourne, Victoria. It was created by Jeffrey (Jeff) Ottery, who ran his own business, BEC Systems, before turning his focus to developing point of sale software, and NeoPOS was born in 2012. Jeff wrote the software himself, building it around what retail and hospitality businesses need at the counter.
Shaped by our customers
NeoPOS has grown into what it is today because of the businesses that use it. Many of its features started as suggestions and requests from our clients, and we still build the software around real feedback from real shops, cafés and restaurants.
Carrying on Jeff’s legacy
Sadly, Jeff passed away in 2022. Today his sons, Nick and Chris, run NeoPOS as a continuation of his life’s work. We’re proud to carry on what he started: keeping the software he built growing, and looking after the businesses that have trusted it for years with the same personal, honest service he always gave.
